We at Tericorp Training believe that First Aid is a life skill, and all should have these skills to enable us to save a life. We are a registered provider with the Department of Labour.
The course includes the following chapters:
- Approaching a casualty.
- Ethics relating to First Aid.
- Triage.
- How the body works -Anatomy and Physiology.
- Artificial Respiration. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- CPR. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- Choking. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- Medical conditions.
- Drowning.
- Trauma conditions
- Fractures.
- Head and Spinal injuries.
- Pelvis and Crush injuries.
- Abdominal injuries.
- Burns.
- Environmental injuries.
- Poisoning, bites and stings.
- Techniques for turning casualties.
- Emergency Childbirth.
- Behavioural emergencies.
- HIV and aids.
All learners will receive their First Aid books, gloves, mouth piece, exam and certificate. The certificate is valid for a period of 3 years and only issued once learners have been found to be competent in both a practical and theoretical exam.
All First Aid courses have been designed by Bronwyn Gemmell who has the following qualifications.
- Qualified AEA Medic.
- Registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Advanced certificate in Education, Training and Development Practitioner (Unisa).
- Registered with HWSETA as Moderator and Assessor.
Training will be presented by qualified and registered paramedics.
