Level 1
We at Tericorp Training believe that First Aid is a life skill, and all should have these skills to enable us to save a life. This course is accredited by the department of labour. The full First Aid Level 1 course is an 18 hour course.
Due to the necessity of having the knowledge of First Aid, we at Tericorp Training have put a special price together for the First Aid level 1 course for high school learners.
The course includes the following chapters:
- Approaching a casualty.
- How the body works - Anatomy and Physiology.
- Artificial Respiration. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- CPR. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- Choking. (Adult, Child, Infant).
- Medical conditions.
- Wounds and Bleeding.
- Fractures.
- Burns.
- Head and Spinal injuries.
- HIV and AIDS.
All learners will receive their First Aid files, gloves, mouth piece and exam.
Once learners are found competent in a theory and practical exam, they will then receive a certificate which is valid for a period of 3 years.
All First Aid courses have been designed by Bronwyn Gemmell who has the following qualifications.
- Qualified AEA Medic.
- Registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Advanced certificate in Education, Training and Development Practitioner (Unisa).
- Registered with HWSETA as Moderator and Assessor.
